San Antonio also has access two water parks one being “Splashtown San Antonio” and the other in nearby New Braunfels, Texas… called Schiltterbahn.

Splashtown San Antonio is 20 landscaped acres of cool, clean water excitement! They have over 50 rides, a wave pool, cabanas and tubes to rent, and will be open beginning June 1st Sun-Thu from 11am-8pm, and Weekends 11am-9pm, until August 13th. August 13th thru August 19th the park is open from 11am-7pm and then will only be opened on weekends until September 9th, when the park closes completely for the season.

Schiltterbahn located in nearby New Braunfels, Texas which is about a 15 minute drive up I-35North. Schillterbahn has 43 rides and water offerings all in mind for the bravest at heart, as well as kiddie pools and rides making it a complete family experience indeed.  The newest attraction is the World’s Largest Water Park ride called “The Falls” which bolsters a 3,600ft long white water river ride along the entire park. Schillterbahn also offers a full resort for those wanting the “full” vacation experience. Please see their website for details.

Last but not least… San Antonio offers two additional amusement parks which also have waterparks located on their premises as well. Both Six Flag’s Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld of San Antonio, maintain fabulous waterparks located within the park common grounds.

White Water Bay located within Fiesta Texas, with 12 water rides, a lagoon and one of the largest wave pools in the country to multi-passenger rafting adventures, you’ll find water rides and experiences for everyone in your family right here. Beginning June 2nd the park is fully operational and will be open from 10:30AM to 8:00PM, while White Water Bay will be open from 12:00Noon till 7:00PM daily and on weekends until August 26th. There are a few dates (weekends only) when they are open in September before closing completely September 16, 2012.

Aquatica is SeaWorld’s waterpark fun… where South Seas meets South Texas at Aquatica, a whimsical, one-of-a-kind waterpark only SeaWorld could create. Aquatica blends up-close animal experiences, waters from serene to extreme, high-speed thrills and sandy beaches. More than 42,000 square feet of sandy beaches cover the park. Aquatica features three pools, a giant wave pool, winding rivers and racing rides – including a one-of-a-kind family raft ride that goes underwater through a reef filled with stingrays and tropical fish and another ride that sends family rafts up a zero-gravity wall where riders experience weightlessness. Beginning June 2nd most days the park will operate in a 10:00AM -9:00PM timeframe… with intermittent day’s alternation in a 9:00AM-10:00PM opening and closing.

Please check all websites for more accurate and precise dates of park openings/closings, large party accommodations and or group discounts.

Wendy Figueroa is originally born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.   Growing up in a diverse setting has allowed me to not fall into the main stereotypical traps normally set by society.  It’s allowed me to see people for people and accept them for who they are and their character.  I’ve seen San Antonio grow and blossom into this major metropolis that continues to “silently” make its mark on the world…..

I’m currently divorced with two wonderful, bright, beautiful children… ages 20 (daughter Cydni) and 12 (son Tauren). As you can see by the age difference that in itself is a challenge … but it’s also very rewarding.  I’m employed at UTHSCSA, where I am admin asst and I love it! I’m in a good place in my life, comfy with who I am, and my own personal walk with my life… I’m not done… but comfy.

As far as writing… I’ve always been drawn to it, and rather enjoy it. This opportunity has given me a voice to do what I’ve always wanted which is to be heard and perhaps shape a life or two with what I have shared.  That’s one of the best rewards in my opinion; a person can ever have with their time here on earth.  Make it count; because that’s what it’s all about.
