Wolfgang Puck Express: Fast Casual with a Delicious Twist
Editor’s note: With the launch of Hawaiian Informer, Ruth and Michael Furman recently visited Hawaii and agreed to write about their trip and other aspects of Hawaii. This is part of a series of articles about their visit.

We are big fans of Wolfgang Puck’s and we’re lucky to have a number of the star chef’s restaurants at home in Las Vegas, so it may seem odd that we’d visit Wolfgang Puck Express while traveling. That’s how much we love Wolfgang Puck.
Wolfgang Puck Express is a delicious and convenient option for breakfast, lunch or dinner in Honolulu.
The open air, casual restaurant on Waikiki beach is a nice upgrade from nearby fast food spots and more wallet-friendly than pricier hotel restaurants.
The name “express” may confuse some considering dining here, but everything on the menu is made to order – and Wolfgang Puck Express has indoor dining as well as a patio with an amazing view of the beach. We were equally impressed our carryout meal and our dine-in experience.
During two separate visits, we sampled a number of items, including the Hawaiian pizza, our favorite Wolfgang chinois chicken salad, the cavatappi chicken pasta, fish and chips, grilled fish served with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes, iced tea and the fresh fruit salad cup.
And here’s good news for tourists: Each slice of the restaurant’s extraordinary banana bread is individually wrapped so do what we did – buy extra and take it back home to the mainland. It makes a great gift.
We enjoyed meeting Michael Mercier, owner/operator of Wolfgang Puck Express Waikiki, who supports local churches and frequently helps the homeless community. He said his restaurant attracts locals and tourists alike. According to Mercier, the restaurant will be renovating this fall and adding new items to the menu, which will make a great spot even better.
Wolfgang Puck Express is located on the bottom floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel at 2570 Kalakaua Ave, space 15 in Honolulu. For more information, click here. For the menu, click here.
